About The Book

Miss Fido Manners, né Charlotte Reed, is a jet-set pet expert who divides her time among Paris, New York City and the east end of Long Island's Hamptons. She zips around the globe with her metropet family of four dogs, three cats, one parrot - or, more simply, "the kids."

Believing that all dogs can be excellent companions if given a fair shake, Miss Fido Manners encourages their guardians to give them something to wag about. With excellent veterinary care, nutrition, exercise and play to keep them healthy and happy; obedience training to teach them and their owners proper petiquette; and regular grooming and styling to smooth out ruff spots, any pooch that follows her dogma gives everybody something to chew on. Besides, as she says, "Well-behaved pets are more pleasant to be around, so they enjoy treats beyond the average bone. Dining out, vacations, parties - nothing's too posh for these pups."

As traditional as Ann Landers in her approach and as no-nonsense as Elle's "Ask E. Jean" in her responses, Miss Fido Manners answers questions from pets and their owners in need. Whether a dog nicknamed "Stinky" requires grooming advice, the father of Princess wants ideas for throwing a regal birthday bash, or Charlie, a fox terrier, needs comforting after the death of a friend, Miss Fido Manners always knows just what to say. Her advice and tips are clever, witty and downright, doggone good.

"The Miss Fido Manners Complete Book of Dog Etiquette is not a dog-training book. Instead, it explains why learning the right way to conduct yourself with your dog enables you to enjoy each other’s company and share more of your life with your pet. As a socially aware pet owner, use this definitive guide as a finishing school primer for your dog."
